San Gabriel’s All-City Pentathlon

On your mark…get set…go! The San Gabriel Community Services Department will be hosting the City’s 6th Annual All-City Pentathlon Meet on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. The meet is for San Gabriel residents and those who attend San Gabriel schools, grades 2 through 8, and will take place at Jefferson Middle School, 1372 East Las Tunas Drive in San Gabriel. All participants will take part in five events which include the 50-meter dash (Grades 2-5), 100-meter dash (Grades 6-8), 200 meter run, softball throw for distance, running long jump and standing long jump. The top three performers in each age group will be recognized during the awards ceremony at the conclusion of the event.
Pre-registration is Required. To register, submit a completed application and a copy of the participant’s age verification to the Community Services Department no later than Friday, March 13, 2020.
Check-in starts at 7:45 am and the day’s events will begin promptly at 9:00 am. If you are interested in practicing and learning about the events, the practice sites will be Coolidge, McKinley, Washington, and Wilson Elementary Schools during the weeks of February 18 – March 20, 2020. The after school sites operate Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 2:30 to 5:00 pm and Wednesdays 1:30 to 5:00 pm. A program waiver and emergency card must be filled out in order to participate in practices at the after school sites.
