Youth Programs 

The Community Services Department offers after school recreation and sports programs during the school year, as well as summer recreation programs, and a summer day camp for San Gabriel youth. Along with these programs, the department provides a variety of trips and special events throughout the year for youth of all ages.

Summer Day Camp


Our Cougar Adventure Camp at Coolidge School features a variety of activities for youth grades, 1-8.  Each week, participants will visit a fun and educational location that matches the theme for the week.  Camp is limited and fills up quickly, so be sure to sign up soon! Registration begins May 8.  For pricing and schedule, please see Day Camp.  To register, a completed Registration Form and payment must be submitted to our office. 

Bulldog Sports Camp


This sports camp is designed for middle school students.  It runs from Mon-Fri, 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm at Jefferson Middle School, June 5 - July 7.  *Bulldog Sports Camp is a FREE program.

Parks After Dark


Join us as we liven up our parks after dark!  We will make stops at Vincent Lugo and Smith Park for an energetic good time as we keep everyone active with fun games and crafts!
Smith Park: Tuesdays at 6 pm
Vincent Lugo Park: Thursdays at 6 pm

Summer Recreation


Summer Recreation sites for participants ages 6 - 18 will be held at: 
Smith Park: (6/5 - 8/4)  Mon-Fri  9am - 2pm
Washington Elementary:  (6/5 - 6/30)  Mon-Fri  12pm - 5:30pm
Roosevelt Elementary:  (6/5 - 6/30)  Mon-Fri 12pm - 5:30pm
Roosevelt Elementary:  (7/3 - 8/4)  Mon-Fri  11am - 2pm
McKinley Elementary:  (6/5 - 6/30)  Mon-Fri  12pm - 5:30pm
Vincent Lugo Park:  (7/3 - 8/4)  Mon-Fri  11am - 2pm
*Summer Recreation sites are FREE drop-in programs.
