San Gabriel Mission

Come participate by walking or biking from the San Gabriel Mission to El Pueblo de Los Angeles. Follow the historic route that was taken by Los Pobladores when they first set out in September 1781! Walk to LA Schedule Route map
Participants must follow all traffic laws and are encouraged to carry their own water and wear comfortable shoes, hats and sunscreen. The early morning moderate trek ends at the El Pueblo Monument, home to Olvera Street, where you can enjoy presentations, museums, restaurants and family entertainment. Complimentary DASH shuttles will be available for walkers to return to the Mission between 11 am and 1 pm. Pick up: El Pueblo on Los Angeles St.

The adventure begins Saturday August 27 at the San Gabriel Mission, 6:00 am for walkers and 7:30 am for bikers (helmets required, must be 12 or older). Participants will head for nine miles along Mission Road into Los Angeles and join in the festivities at El Pueblo Historical Monument at Olvera Street. The walk takes approximately three hours to complete. The Walk to Los Angeles is a long standing tradition, be a part of history this year!
