Neighborhood Improvement Services is responsible for enforcing municipal code sections related to property maintenance; public nuisances; graffiti; health and safety; housing; business licenses; zoning issues; and storm water management. The Neighborhood Improvement Services Division not only investigates complaints and requests received from citizens, but also is proactive in promoting a clean, attractive and safe community. The Division also oversees the shopping cart retrieval program and the tree permit process. As part of its focus on neighborhood preservation and revitalization, the Neighborhood Improvement Services Division is also the City's liaison for Rebuilding Together and the Holiday Decorations Award Program.
NEW! ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION PROCEDURE EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2008
San Gabriel has a new tool to fight code violations, improve the appearance of neighborhoods, and streamline the effort to clean up San Gabriel Streets. Your City Council has adopted an ordinance permitting streamlined code enforcement to occur through the issuance of administrative citations for routine violations of the City's zoning, building and development codes. LIGHT UP SAN GABRIEL 2008- HOLIDAY DECORATIONS AWARDS PROGRAM
The City of San Gabriel, in conjunction with the Women’s Division of the Chamber of Commerce, has established this award program to honor residents and businesses for their participation in spreading the holiday cheer. Winners will be notified by letter and will be recognized during the week of December 22, with a visit from Santa and the San Gabriel Fire and Police Departments. Winners will receive a sign to display and will receive certificates of recognition, as well as special gifts, from the City Council. click here for nomination form.
