Thomas Marston has 28 years of municipal finance experience. He has served as Finance Director for the City of San Gabriel since 2000 and oversees an annual budget of over $50 million and an investment portfolio over $28 million. Mr. Marston also served as the Finance Officer for the former San Gabriel Redevelopment Agency and is currently the Vice-Chair of the San Gabriel Successor Agency Oversight Board.
Prior to Mr. Marston’s appointment to the City of San Gabriel, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Montclair and the Executive Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Glendale. Mr. Marston began his career as a financial analyst for Katz Hollis Redevelopment Consultants.
Mr. Marston earned his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona and his Masters Degree in Public Administration with a specialization in public finance from USC.
Mr. Marston and his wife Jean, an elementary school teacher of 29 years have two adult children, Kaiti, a graduate of Colorado State University and Christopher, currently attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
