Community Services Award Program

Annually, the Community Services Commission honors the community of San Gabriel for their outstanding contributions to the youth and adult programs in our community. The Commission has established two annual awards that will be presented at their June Commission Meeting.

The Community Services Commission is requesting your assistance by submitting the names of San Gabriel residents who have extended themselves on behalf of the youth and older adults of the City of San Gabriel.

All-New After School Program At Coolidge, McKinley, Roosevelt, Washington & Wilson Elementary!

There is a brand new after-school program at our child's elementary school!  Your child will get assistance with homework, do crafts and play games. This free program will be available to elementary school youth grades 2 through 5.  Your new after school program will now run five days a week 2:30 to 5:00pm and 1:30 to 5:00pm on Wednesdays.

Recreation Leaders will be at each school site  to collect permission slips for this exciting new program!

New At Jefferson Middle School!

The City of San Gabriel, Community Services Department offers a wide variety of sports for all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys and girls. This free Jefferson sports program runs Monday through Thursday, after school from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., or until dark. Participants try out for the combined sixth/seventh grade team or the eighth grade team. Selected team members will represent Jefferson Middle School in the Foothill Sports League (210 League). Teams will compete against other local middle schools. Teams will be focus on preparing for high school sports, developing good sportsmanship and team play. Winter season will include Basketball for both boys and girls.

Along with the Winter sports program, Jefferson Middle School will also have a brand new intramural sports and recreational educational program!  The intramural sports and education program will be held Wednesdays 12:00 to 3:pm, with intramural games taking place on Friday afternoons.  Your child will have an opportunity to participate in a number of sports during 4 nine week sessions and be able to take classes like tennis, gardening, cooking, karate, and much more! All activities are fee based and limited to Jefferson Middle School students.
