The Parks & Facilities Division is comprised of two segments: Parks and Facilities. The Parks side which is responsible for all maintenance operations at all City Parks, public restrooms and adjoining buildings, all joint use facilities such as Roosevelt and Washington tennis courts and the baseball field at Lugo Park. Parks ground maintenance includes mowing, trimming, irrigating, weeding, fertilizing, and cleaning restrooms and playgrounds. The Parks Staff is also responsible for maintenance of all City street tree trimming, planting, and removing, as well as, weed abatement on major thoroughfares and two Metro park-and-ride lots with the objective of preservation and providing a well maintained and aesthetically pleasing environment. The Parks side also operates and maintains the public swimming pool, wading pool and adjoining pool center building at Smith Park.
The Facilities side which is responsible for the maintenance and preservation of all City-owned buildings, such as City Hall, McGroarty, Police Department, two Fire Stations, Recreation Buildings, and Public Work Facility. Responsibilities include routine maintenance of all plumbing, HVAC systems, painting, electrical, office repairs, roofing, light construction and assistance with special requests. The goal is to provide both the public and City staff with facilities that are functional, well-maintained and safe in a cost-effective manner.
