The Community Services Commission is the City Council advisory board on the subjects related to effectiveness of programs and policies as it relates to recreation and park programs in the City.

Meets publicly on the first Monday of each month from October through June at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chamber.

Apply For Commission
- Commissioners are appointed by the City Council when vacancies occur or a term expires.
- The people who serve on the Commissions are volunteers, therefore there is no compensation for commissioners.
- Elected officials cannot serve on any commission.
- Must be residents of the City during their respective terms.
- Commissioners are required to complete Ethics Training pursuant to California Assembly Bill 1234 every 2 years.
- Commissioners are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests Form 700 each year.
Community Services Commission Awards Program
The Community Services Commission honors the community of San Gabriel for their outstanding contributions to the youth and adult programs in our community. The Selfless Volunteer Award is an award given to one individual for volunteer work with youth or older adult organizations and programs. This award can be given to any individual who has made significant contributions to the City of San Gabriel and the community through their time, actions, talents and dedication. The nominee should serve as a role model for compassion and service and strive to make the community of San Gabriel a better place. Their passion for service and helping others in the community should be selfless.
The Community Services Commission is requesting your assistance by submitting the names of volunteers who have extended themselves on behalf of the youth and older adults of the City of San Gabriel. The Awards Program is open to any volunteer who has made a significant contribution to the City of San Gabriel.
