San Gabriel's Outstanding Older American

The City of San Gabriel, in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, is sponsoring an “Older American Recognition Day”. The Community Services Department is soliciting public input in determining San Gabriel’s Outstanding Older American.

This program is designed to seek out and honor persons 65 years of age and older who are actively involved in service to others in their community. The purpose is to encourage community leaders to remain active in mainstream community life. The criteria for the Outstanding Older American is:

  • Older Adult, age 65 or older
  • Has not been honored at the event in previous years
  • Has performed outstanding volunteer service for the San Gabriel Community
