Overview
The City of San Gabriel passed Ordinance No. 612-C.S., an amendment to the portion of the City's municipal code that relates to the practice of massage in the City on February 17, 2015. The ordinance went into effect thirty one days after adoption, on March 18, 2015.
Massage providers already doing business in the City will have three years to obtain a Conditional Use Permit (CUP; please see the Planning Division or call 626-308-2806 for further information.) New massage businesses, or those with any change in ownership, whether adding or deleting an owner, must apply for a CUP prior to the change in ownership.
All massage businesses will need to comply with all of the provisions of the amended Ordinance immediately. The entire Ordinance is available on the City website.
