San Gabriel Fire Department
Welcome to the San Gabriel Fire Department and thank you for taking the time to visit. We are a full-service, all-risk fire department, providing fire protection, urban search and rescue (US&R), paramedic ambulance service, paramedic assessment engines, fire prevention inspections, public education, emergency preparedness planning, fire investigation, code enforcement, CERT training and other services based on community needs.
The department is part of Region 1, Operational Area C. San Gabriel Fire Department is a member of Verdugo Fire Communications, which provides fire and EMS dispatch to 12 area fire departments, from Burbank to Monrovia to Montebello as well as the Bob Hope Airport.
The Unified Response agreement, of which we are a member, provides for a seamless response by multiple agencies to even the most challenging emergencies. Using state-of-the-art GPS and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Verdugo dispatches the closest available unit to an emergency call regardless of city boundaries. San Gabriel regularly sends resources to and receives emergency equipment and personnel from other agencies as the need arises.
