The City of San Gabriel will be hosting its second annual Cinco de Mayo Mercado, featuring food trucks, live music, Latin American artists and artisans in the heart of the San Gabriel Mission District.
This free celebration will include live entertainment, including the Las Colibri all-female mariachi band, the Ballet Folklorico Sol de Fuego dance troupe, the San Gabriel Mission Marimba Ensemble and local cover band Yesterday’s Dream. The festival will also include work from local Latin American artists, including Lalo Alcaraz, who served as a cultural consultant for Disney Pixar’s Coco.
Festivalgoers may dine at several local food trucks, including Tepeyac on the Road, Oaxaca on Wheels, Go Fusion N Grille, Ridges Churro Bar and San Gabriel’s very own Nomad Ice Pops.
Cinco de Mayo Mercado will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the historic San Gabriel Mission District located at 320 South Mission Drive. For this event, Mission Drive will be closed from Santa Anita Street to Carmelita Drive from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Parking will be available in lots surrounding the Mission District.
