Community Services' after school program is returning to your child's elementary school this year. Beginning on August 20, children in second grade through fifth grade can take part in traditional fall sports, homework assistance, arts, crafts and fun activities. The sports program is available for those in third grade through fifth grade. These programs will be held at Coolidge Elementary, McKinley Elementary, Washington Elementary and Wilson Elementary School, and will take place five days a week from 2:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. Sign-ups will be taken beginning on August 20 after school, so please stop by to meet recreation leaders at your local school. Participants must have a parent or guardian complete and sign participant information forms, and they must return these forms to our recreation leaders in order to participate. This is a sign-in and sign-out program.
Jefferson Middle School will begin their after school sports program during the week of August 27. The Jefferson sports program is a high school preparatory program, and this fall, the Jefferson traveling sports teams will represent their school in flag football and girls' volleyball. The program operates after school, Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. If your student is selected for the team, they will represent the school in the 210 League, which consists of eleven other middle schools in the area. Each team will have their own schedule of games and schedules will be distributed prior to the start of the season. Visit our recreation leaders after school to get more information about the sports program. Please note that this program is limited to Jefferson students.
