The San Gabriel community is invited to a free screening of the documentary "Angst" at the Goodson Theatre at Gabrielino High School on Thursday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m.
The goal of "Angst" is to raise awareness surrounding mental health disorders in youth, and to encourage youth and their parents to reach out for help. According to the World Health Organization, mental disorders affect 10-20% of teens worldwide. A panel discussion with campus counselors, the San Gabriel Police MET team, and a mental health provider from Asian Pacific Family Center will take place following the film. Chinese translation will be available. Questions will be collected anonymously before the screening and resources will be made available to all.
The film is appropriate for ages 10 and up and will be played in English with Chinese subtitles. Learn more about the movie here, and we encourage you to RSVP here, though registration is not required to attend.
Funding for this project is provided by the San Gabriel Community Foundation in partnership with the Friends of the San Gabriel Library.
