As part of the department’s efforts to increase community policing, the San Gabriel Police Department will be opening a new satellite police station at Marshall Park located at 311 West Marshall Street in San Gabriel on August 8, 2019 at 5:30 p.m.
Known as the Marshall Satellite Police Station, the new station will ensure a more robust police presence in the southern portion of San Gabriel by housing the department’s Traffic Bureau and select administrative and operational functions.
“The Marshall Satellite Police Station will allow the City to better engage and serve this underserved part of the community,” said Mayor Jason Pu. “We’re delighted to be opening this station and I’m looking forward to saying hi to our officers while playing basketball at Marshall Community Park.”
With the opening of this new satellite station, San Gabriel officers will be permitted and encouraged to work at the location to conduct police work. “Community engagement and personalized service have always been a cornerstone of the San Gabriel Police Department,” said Police Chief Gene Harris. “The grand opening of this new satellite station will allow us to open up another conduit to our community by allowing our officers to provide even more personalized service to our residents. We’re looking forward to increasing our community engagement in the area.”
