Changes to the San Gabriel Police Department community programs are on their way! The “411 with the Chief” community meetings have evolved into a new series called “Talk of the Town.” Instead of formal meetings in City Hall, Chief Eddie Elizalde will be leading monthly intimate “Talk of the Town” gatherings at community venues in various San Gabriel neighborhoods. “Talk of the Town” aims to provide more accessible platforms for all community members while building trust between the police and the community.
In addition to the new “Talk of the Town” program, Chief Elizalde and the SGPD are revamping its Area Lieutenant Program. The revamped program will have one dedicated patrol lieutenant overseeing each of the city’s four geographical districts as well as monthly community engagement events in various San Gabriel neighborhoods by Chief Elizalde and the area lieutenants.
We hope these changes will help foster stronger relationships between law enforcement and the community.
