The San Gabriel based Asian Youth Center earned the “Nonprofit of the Year” distinction from the office of Assemblyman Ed Chau. Chau honored the group at the state capitol in Sacramento last week for the inaugural California Nonprofits Day.

AYC focuses on empowering low-income immigrant and at-risk youths and families in Los Angeles County through programs in education, employment and social services.

“AYC is deeply honored to be selected as ‘Nonprofit of the Year’ by Assemblymember Ed Chau,” said Michelle Freridge, Executive Director of AYC.
