With school starting soon and the summer months winding down, Smith Park Pool open swim will close at the end of this week.
Saturday, Aug. 13 will mark the last day for kids and families to enjoy open swim, which is open Wednesday through Saturday from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. and Tuesday 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The cost is only $1.50 for children 17 years and younger and $2.00 for adults 18 years and up.
In addition, summer swim lessons are finished. The Lifeguard/Swim Instructors, under the direction of the Community Services Department staff, did an excellent job providing a high level of instruction to over 1,000 swim lesson participants this summer.
Registration is still open for the noon weekday water aerobics class, which will continue through the first week of September due to popular demand. Phone-in and walk-in registration is available at the Recreation Office, 250 S Mission Drive, Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended hours on Tuesday until 6:00 p.m.
