This August, Lt. Riki Nakamura graduated from the Los Angeles Police Department Leadership Program, coming back to the San Gabriel Police Department with greater knowledge and skills to help him serve the community.
The program is a 136 hour course that aims to teach police personnel how to “think more systematically about leadership, challenges and situations.” It asks students to solve realistic law enforcement leadership problems using leadership theories based on those taught at the United States Military Academy at West Point and other behavioral science and adult education theories from the top universities in the nation.
Nakamura was one of 25 local law enforcement personnel who graduated from the program this summer. For more information, contact SGPD Sgt. Christine Nolasco at 626.308.2843.
