This fall, the San Gabriel Community Services Department will offer a brand new computer class for older adults. Computer skills are essential for everyone these days, so this is an important opportunity for those who want to learn.
The class is designed for beginners with limited computer knowledge. Under the direction of instructor Alan Ng, participants will learn basic computer skills, how to navigate the world wide web and terms that they might have heard before but weren’t quite sure what they meant. This class is interactive and will help participants learn how to operate a computer with hands on training.
The classes will be held at the Adult Recreation Center, 324 S Mission Dr. on Fridays from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m., beginning Sept. 23. Registration opens on Sept. 6 for the low price of $50 for residents and $55 for non-residents. There will be a $10 supply fee payable to the instructor at the first class.
For more information on older programs, contact Recreation Supervisor James Lara at 626.308.2875 or jlara@sgch.org.
Any person with a disability who requires a modification or accommodation in order to participate should direct such request to the Community Services Department at 626.308.2875 at least 48 hours before the event, if possible.
