dumpling and beer fest

Delicious dumplings, craft beer tasters, live music and more will fill the historic Mission District on Thursday, Sept. 29 for the 2nd Annual San Gabriel Dumpling & Beer Fest.

The event aims to offer a unique twist on the traditional Oktoberfest celebration, showcasing the San Gabriel region as a destination for delicious dumplings and other authentic Asian cuisine. The inaugural festival was a smashing success last year, and this year’s event promises to be even bigger and better.

The festival will feature 17 food vendors, including ACA Grill, Fine Garden, Kai Kai Dumplings, Norigami, Seoul Street, T4U Café, Yumplingz, Let’s Thai, Phantom Food Truck, Slammin’ Sliders, Slanging Corea, Steamy Bun Truck, Tokyo Doggie Style and dessert from Scoops on Tap and Fresh Roast.

The beer garden will have more than 16 craft beers on tap, including selections from Anchor Brewing, Angel City Brewery, Bear Lao, Coronado Brewing Co., Iron Triangle Brewery, Sapporo, Singha, Unibroue, Lagunitas Brewing Co. and Bootlegger’s Brewery.

Festival-goers can also enjoy free live musical entertainment from band Cold Duck, DJ Nick and DJ Black Rabbit.

Admission to the festival is free. Beer tasting wristbands can be purchased online from Eventbrite, for just $30 for unlimited tastings and $20 for limited (16) tastings, plus fees. Food will be available for purchase from individual vendors at the event. There will be plenty of free parking available around the Mission District.

Road Closures: On the day of the event, Mission Drive will be closed between Santa Anita Street and W Broadway from 2:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Dumpling & Beer Fest will go from 6:00-9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 in the historic Mission District, 320 S Mission Drive. For more information, visit www.sangabrielcity.com/dumplingandbeerfest.
